Lent At SPC

Stand Firm: A Study of 1 Peter

Ash Wednesday

Even though we can't gather in person, we would love for you to join us for a time of remembrance of Ash Wednesday. We will have a small Meditation & Song available right here, beginning Tuesday evening around 7pm. Please watch this with your family, either that evening, or anytime during Ash Wednesday. Once the service is up, you can click the button below to watch it!

At the end of the Meditation, Pastor Paul will give the Words of Institution for Communion. There are two ways that you can choose to receive communion. First, you may participate virtually, should you feel uncomfortable leaving your home or coming to the church. The EPC has made virtual communion permissible. You may obtain your own bread and juice or wine.

Alternatively, we will have three different time slots on Ash Wednesday, where you may come to the church in person, via drive-up. Pull up to the church entrance and Pastor Paul, along with some volunteers, will serve communion. At your request, you may also have Ashes imposed at that time, all while remaining in your car. We will follow the strictest health and safety protocols in order to keep you as safe as possible. There are three time slots during which in-person Communion & Ashes will be available on Ash Wednesday. Simply pull up to the front door of the church, getting behind other vehicles in line should there be others present.

  • Morning: 7AM - 9AM
  • Lunchtime: 12PM - 2PM
  • Afternoon: 4PM - 6PM

During the weeks of Lent, we will be taking a closer look at the book of 1 Peter and the theme of Standing Firm in the midst of suffering. Beyond weekly sermons, we have also provided you with a Devotional Guide of daily Scripture readings, which you can download below!
